Does anyone know of a mod to track the rolls and odds for battle brothers. I swear to god they are off, and I'd like to find out for sure.
What's on your mind?
Heya, made this for personal use, thought I'd share.
Been using the table on the talent page but it was awkward, took too long to find the exact stat with the exact amount of stars, so I made this readable version with a layout that correlates to the layout in game. I used the existing table for information and the icons used on the wiki.
May I suggest you rework the talent page, so there's a table using icons instead of text? I wouldn't mind you using this image, but it would be less useful to new players as just one image without the ability to hover and see what each icon means.
During a battle with goblin wolf-riders, my game froze. I am 380 days into a veteran game and don't want to lose my progress. Can someone tell me, if I close the game in task manager, will the game count it as a loss, and I will lose my progress?
Many years ago I used to own a game with turn based combat game play just like this but you were managing a team competing in a league, like a team gladiator type thing i think, and could buy better characters and equipment at the end of every match. I am racking my brains trying to think what the title was, does anyone happen to know?
(I think I owned the gold version but there was a free trial version that let you play a few rounds or something as well)
I didn't see any section for design ideas, so i post it here, it is an email i just send to overhypestudios, i wanted to share with other players to see if we have some ideas in common or if we can improve some more !
"Hello Overhypestudios ! First things first : i love the game, the atmosphere and the mechanics, thanks for making it :) As the title says, i have some suggestions to improve player experience : - check up of the company always useful to check before and after a battle how things are among the bros : armor and weapon status, moral... I guess a lot of player do that, navigating fast trought their company using the keyboard.I would love to have a fix moral "bubble icone" (to see what caused it, moslty "bro felt useless in reserve") so that i can have my mouse pointer not moving around while the fast navigating with the keyboard. The bubble could be on the left side instead of stacking with the background, traits and injuries bubbles. It would also be great to be able to see the raw stats by clicking the level icone, mostly for checking fatigue (i stripped my bros more than once to compare their raw (or max) fatigue, it is a bit tidious) - arrow / bolt count in battleWould be great to have a bubble icone with a clear number of arrows/bolts left in quiver with the active effects bubble icones, i know their is the "you're empty" bubble that pops, but that's a bit too late for me ^^ Mostly for my last arrow if i dont have the quick hands perk, i want to be abble to choose if i want a quick shot and take quiver or aim a shot and change quiver next turn, it can change stuff ^^ - permanent hot keys i would love to have a set of permanent hotkeys for attacks, shieldwall, bandage... In the Starcraft 2 fashion ^^i don't know if it would be simple, i don't have all possibilities in mind but it could be great, mostly for players who like to play fast but still can be a bit bitter if they do a mistake, like myself ^^example : when outranging an opponent, you focus on archers and go fast through your melee bros : 2 handers, shield bearers with differents weapons and equipment... I love to shieldwall fast, usually i press "4" (to shieldwall) and "F" (to end bro's turn) in a split second, but sometimes it is a different effect, and it breaks my rythm or use an item (like poison) Maybe have a specific hotkey for shieldwall, another for shieldbreaking (with all different weapons) only could be enough :) - tactical starting position this is the first reason why i have a really hard time with ironman mode, because while i can cope with the frustration of a bro missing hits and gettings killed in the battle mayhem, i cannot deal with some surprisingly crappy position you can start a battle because of RNG.That makes no sense to me, like having a bro in a hole, having the company across a canyon-like road spliting a hill in half and separating your bros, having a start downhill against a master archer...I think RNG map is good, but you have to let the player place their bros in the battlefield when they attack (it is different if it is an ambush or if you are defending). Why not have an area of deployment like in Heroes of Might and Magic or Total war ?Why not have a "tactitian" perk in the first 4 tiers to allow just that ? i'll be taking it all the time on my sarg ^^ The 2 nd and 3d reasons i hate ironmaning are hiring luck and tidious/harsh retreats, but you fixed that ! how awesome :) Thanks ! well, hope it was not too much boring of a read, thanks for your work, i can't wait for the DLC :) Cheers !
Hello friends, if you are still around, that is.
Well, since I won't be able to really keep an eye on this wiki (with the occasional login inbetween to write a message or something similar) for some time in the future as I will be gone for quite a while and since Proudhand hasn't been seen for quite a while too, I think it is time to announce at least one new admin.
Maybe that one person (or more persons, depending on votes) will be able to do better with this wiki than I did. I tried to bring new life to it (i.e. new users) but ultimately failed (most people came by themselfes), I don't have the connections in the varying forums or similar to bring people here. I think I just wanted this place to become more of a thing like the steam forums. Something everyone comes to, regardless the reason why.
Anyway, new admins are desperately needed, as the threat of vandalism is always current, though luckily we didn't have much of a problem with that. Though a wiki lives by the users as a whole, there need to be some people, who have extended rights, to undo vandalism or edit sections of the wiki that are sensitive and for various other tasks. Admins are not always (!) the main decision makers, they are users as everyone else, just with extended tools, they are not supposed to act like dictators!
But to get to the point, this wiki needs more admins, who know how to handle discussions, vandalism, if need be ban people and perform various other tasks around the wiki. The main thing I wanted to do is bring more people here, but I didn't really succeed with that (as I said, most people came by themselfes and not because I posted or invited somewhere). Maybe the new admins announced will do better in that regard.
I propose Vilain Joueur as new admin, he is still around and does edit often and his latest work, the page Late Game Builds including it's infoboxes are exceptionally well crafted.
But Cottandy and Todeos are also very well versed editors. Drathnar of course too. As are others. You see, this is where it gets difficult for me, so now, it's your turn.
Everyone who wants to become an admin, please announce so in this thread. Say whatever you want with it or why you want to be one. Or also why not, if applicable.
How to vote? I thought we could just use messages. We aren't that many who are still active I think, so that should work. Just write who you vote with yes for, and who you vote with no for. Not very professional, I know, but I think it will work. Maybe also use the kudos system as expression of yes. (The thumbs up symbol in the top right corner of a message.)
I didn't think of a specific time period for this vote, maybe a week? Depends on how quickly the votes come in.
Anyway, that's all I want to say right now. Feel free to to vote, propose yourself or someone else (of course, that person will have to accept the vote in the end, if he didn't propose himself before) or share your general thoughts.
I have a question: Do you know how your brothers Initiative's calculated along with their Fatigue? Like when your brothers Fatigue goes up while fighting, do you know how exactly the Initiative goes down, what's the math behind? Please forgive me for my bad English :) Thanks <3
Does anyone have any information about enemy regeneration rates? I have been looking but have been unable to find any. More specifically, if I do not defeat all the enemies at a location and retreat I can return to that location to try again. The number of enemies present will be less than the initial amount, but more than I left when I retreated. How is that number calculated?
There is no section about the game itself in the forum.
Like maybe about strats, builds, formation, specific tactics against ennemies, fluff etc... maybe even a present your company topic !!
I have been thinking about the build section.
It is a special section in my mind because most of the wiki is a collection of data about the game. Those are facts. Once they are there it's kinda done.
But builds is another thing because they are a personnal thing and i think there are many viable builds depending on playstyle.
Also i think making a build for a certain merc is an art. Rather than waiting to find the merc that fits in the build you have decided to go for.
Finally I think sharing your mercs / your party is one of the more fun things around the game.
So i think we should build the Build part of the wiki around these ideas.
Not presenting "builds" but Deathpact Bulwark melle duelist archetype and this kind of things. where it is not a general presentation but always specific to a player.
Also this way we could encourage players to create a page about a character they have designed and they could ask other players opinion about it. This could also be made through the forum though.
It could be a nice ADD for the wiki and forum: Pimp my merc. Come present your merc(s) and have professional players help give you their opinion about him !
This kind of stuff (it has worked for almost ten years this way on the Game "La Brute" if you know it
Hi guys i thought we ought to have a thread were we can identify who is motivated to help with building the wiki itself and the traffic towards it.
I'm in. It will be little touches here and there from me but i'll definitely add my little stones here and there as i think my love for this game will last long.
Thank you so much! Russian-language wiki without you would't have been.
Without your articles in the Russian wiki would be a lot fewer pages than it is now.
99% of our pages, it is a translations from your wiki.
Images we're borrowed from you too.
In our country this game is not popular yet. In our team only 7 people, and 3 of them are active.
We're translated 150 articles in about 10 days.
Thank you so so so much guys!
I asked wikia admins to setup interlanguage linking between the english and the russian wiki.
What is interlanguage linking?
Well, it basically allows us to link to each others version of the wiki.
But an example explains more than a thousand words. Look here:
I added the line [[en:Shortsword]] to the page Короткий_меч in source mode.
Now you can see, that at the bottom of the page, a link to the english wiki is shown.
I also added the line [[ru:Короткий_меч]] to the Shortsword page and you can see there that is now a link to the russian wiki at the bottom of the page.
It works similar in that way for every page.
It is not something cruel, but it would be nice if you all could add interlanguage links whenever you have the chance to and want to, of course.

yes, and yet again it's about splitting somethin up.
The Brothers' Statistics page is going to be way to long when every stat is going to be explained there more specifically.
So, I thought, maybe split the stats into several pages and use the table in Statistics for links to the subpages?
One time, we already scratched the topic with morale:
I didn't realise how much we had on morale. I thought it was going to get merged but I guess morale deserves it's own page as well. Players will probably want detailed info relating to it (perks, traits, etc) and it makes sense to have it in the one place. If we put a link on the other two pages and reorder the text a little then it should all make sense.
the armor page is really long due to the fact that headgear, body armor and shields are squeezed onto one page.
I thought of splitting up headgear, body armor and shields into own pages and the armor page would be a redirect page (like this one), somewhat looking like that:
Armor is split into the following sorts:
What do you guys think?
the comment of a visitor on the wiki stated, that a warhammer is a blunt weapon not a crude weapon.
By definition he is correct, but what would happen to the pickaxe if we merge the warhammer into the blunt weapons table? A table for one weapon alone? Or should we see it as blunt weapon too?
(The pickaxe data seems outdated/partially wrong too.)
I thought I would start using the forums to try and strike up some discussion on what we want the wiki to (eventually) look like.
So to kick us off I think we should talk about spilting up the Game mechanics page. It's just way too long.
Combat mechanics could probably be it's own page but then should XP and/or Morale stay or move with it? Or even be given their own pages? Or should it just be left as is?
Everythings on the cards for me, but we've all probably got ideas on how all these pieces will fit together.
I'd love some feedback and to hear everyone's ideas.
